Shri N.Srinivasan, a post graduate in Chemical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology, U.S.A., is the son of late Shri T.S.Narayanaswami, Founder of The India Cements Ltd., and a pioneer industrialist of Tamil Nadu.

Shri N.Srinivasan, an industrialist, is the Vice Chairman & Managing Director of the India Cements Ltd., since 1989. A major Corporate entity in the South, with a turnover of around Rs. 3,500 Crores - whose activities span Cement, Sugar, Shipping, Power,Trading and Finance.

Shri N.Srinivasan was the Sheriff of Madras for two terms (1989-91). Over the last decade and a half, he has been the President of the Cement Manufacturers' Association for five terms (1991-94) & (2004-06) and Chairman of the Board of Governors of the National Council for Cement and Building Materials (NCBM) for four terms (1991-93) & (2004-06). He was also the Chairman of Development Council for Cement Industry (DCCI) constituted by the Government of India for two terms (1992-96). Shri N.Srinivasan was also the President of The Madras Chamber of Commerce and Industry for two terms (1996-98). During the year 2000-2001, Shri N.Srinivasan was President of the All India Organisation of Employers. He was also an active Member of the Prime Minister's High Profile Council of Trade and Industry (1996-2001).

Mr.N.Srinivasan is presently a Member of the Executive Committee of Federation of Indian Chambers and Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and also a Special Invitee to the General Committee of The Madras Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI).

Mr.N.Srinivasan is on the Board of serveral leading public limited Companies. Mr.N.Srinivasan is also a member of Special Task Force for Industrial Development constituted by the Goverment of Tamil Nadu. He is also a member of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam Board.

Mr.N.Srinivasan has been an ardent advocate of the cause of education. He is one of the Trustees of The India Cements Educational Trust, which manages a Polytechnic at Sankarnagar, Tirunelveli and is the President of the The India Cements Educational Society, which has promoted an Arts and Science College in Chennai.

An avid golfer, Shri N.Srinivasan was captain of the Kodaikanal Golf Club during the period 1995-97 and is presently the President of the Tamil Nadu Golf Federation.

Shri N.Srinivasan is an ardent Cricket lover and is presently the Hony.Treasurer of the Board of Control for Cricket in India. He is also the President of the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association.

Mr. N.Srinivasan is also the President of the All India Chess Federation.
